What's in it for me?

Participating in this programme will give you access to...

  • Recognised Qualification

Industry leading training programme, supported by the manufacturer of PMC, Mitsubishi Materials Trading Corporation. In addition, this programme is recognised by the London Assay Office, enabling you to register as a student of precious metal and set up your hallmark, free of charge.

  • Professional Instructors

Program tutors that are both expert metal clay artisans and professional tutors, with many, many years experience in working with and teaching metal clay. They have designed this course to ensure they are available to you throughout, teaching, supporting and encouraging you every step of the way.

  • Amazing community

Never underestimate the power of a supportive peer group! Our virtual classroom approach enables you to make new friends from around the world. Imagine having your very own silver clay tribe, cheering you on, celebrating, supporting and offering a virtual hug whenever you need one.

How will I learn?

Each module has a programme of work, accompanied by a series of video's and downloads, which are accessed here in Thinkific, our learning management system.  It helps you work through the course, step-by-step, download notes, and repeat lessons if needed.  You don’t have to be here at a specific time, you just pop in and out when YOU can.  So you go at your own pace.  And all our courses come with a lifetime access guarantee, so do the course as many times as you like and benefit from updates as they are published - all for one enrolment fee.

There is also a dedicated Facebook group for additional support and you'll be invited to join it when we're about to start.  Here you can ask the tutor specific questions, connect with a community of people doing the same work as you and build friendships.  We do additional demonstrations here too, great for any tricky areas where you need some additional support, and they are always available in the group so that you can look at them again and again, at any time.

Finally, we host regular web meetings via Zoom to allow you to check in, get answers to any questions, share ideas and chat to others.    Whilst these sessions are held at a specified time and we recommend students join if they can, we understand this isn't always possible so they are recorded and the video loaded into the Facebook group so that you can view it there if you miss it.

Here's what some of last years students said...and made!

Such a great learning experience for beginners and people who have been self taught like myself. I learned easier, better ways to accomplish things I had been doing. I also learned new things that would have taken me years to learn. You move along at your own pace and have such amazing support and helpful teachers.

How can I find out more?

Click on each course below where you will find more details regarding what you will learn and need to complete the course

FAQ

  • I’m paying in instalments – how will that work?

You make your first payment when you enrol, at which point the instalment plan is set up. You will them automatically pay each monthly payment using the same payment method.

  • What if I change my mind?

You can book you place now, and have a 14 day ‘cooling off’ period. However, if you start the course you will have had access to the tuition and the notes, so we would not refund at that stage. If you need to, you can defer the course until you are ready to take it.

  • I need lots of time to order materials at the moment – how will that work?

At the beginning of each module we will give you a tool and materials list. You can then order those as soon as possible. If there are specific suppliers, we will direct you to them. You will also be given a Pinterest link to review samples, student work and inspiration, to start the creative process.

  • How much time will we need to complete the course?

We would expect you to spend approximately 3-4 hours per week. Each module takes 18 hours in class. We have allowed 8 weeks for each module online. You can work at your own pace; we know stuff happens!! We would recommend you aim to complete 2 - 3 projects per month, but this will vary depending on your time.

  • How much experience do I need to do this course?

You need to have some experience of silver clay before you start as this isn't a beginners course. It’s a course for those that have done some silver clay and now want more … more skills, more opportunities to experiment and best of all more PLAY!!

  • What if I need extra one to one support?

If you need extra one to one support for one of more of the projects, you can purchase sessions just for you, to go through, trouble shoot, have demonstrations, and ask questions. These will be at an additional cost of £25 for a 30-minute session. For most students, the support already included in the course is enough - this option is really just there if you would prefer this level of support

  • How do you assess my work?

We assess your work at the end of each module, via photos. During the process we ask you to share progress photos so that we can help, and make sure you are on the right track. If you are not sure please ask a question in the group. It’s best for us to check so that you don’t go off track! The great thing about a group is that others can help too.

  • How will I get my certificate?

This is emailed to you on successful completion of the course
